Every once in a while I see something that makes me wonder… really wonder. Like on Wednesday when I saw this pothole. At least I think it’s a pothole. Either that or it’s in the beginning stages of growing into a sink hole? This thing was so big that someone actually circled it with a car tire! And there is dirt in the tire… and small plants growing in the dirt. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Apparently The City has already been notified as there are City-looking paint markings surrounding the hazard.
To me, the biggest hazard was trying not to fall off of my bike, as I was laughing so hard. It almost looked like some sort of public art project. Maybe PUSH was attempting to make lemonade out of lemons? Now that would be creative. Fill in the largest potholes with car tires and plant seedlings. The small trees could eventually be transported to a West Side tree farm… brilliant!
If you think that this is a fun one, just wait until I cover a tree growing on top of a building in the Cobblestone District this weekend. Stay tuned for a series called, ‘Trees Grow In The Darndest Locations’.
