Roaming Buffaloes embarked on their first ever whitewater rafting trip to Lansing, WV, home of the New River and the infamous Gauley River–one of the top three rafting rivers in the country, and one of the top seven in the world.
Twenty-five Buffalonians took over Ray’s Campground in Hico, WV–just outside of Lansing–for a weekend of rafting, camping, paintball, ziplining, and camaraderie. Sharing food by the campfire with the new friends made in the group is a prime example of what the group is all about.
Chris Dentinger, a Roaming Buffaloes member who attended the trip talked about how “spending an entire weekend camping and rafting with friends you’ve just met really bonds you together. When you have to work together to keep the raft on course you learn a lot about each other and develop a shared experience. I feel like I’m going to be friends with many of these people in and outside the group.”
Another member, Angela Tabersky, called the weekend “the best weekend ever.”
Roaming Buffaloes continues to add new and exciting events to its calendar everyday. They will soon be launching a new website complete with instant messaging between members, along with the other features the members have come to expect.
