Part Four of Eight: Elmwood Green Campaign

The
Elmwood Village Green Campaign has come to the halfway point in their
eight-part series put on by
the Elmwood Village Association (EVA), the Western New York Sustainable Energy Trust and the U.S. Green Building Council Chapter of Western New York, as this coming Thursday, June 4th will mark the fourth
installment of the program from
7-9PM at the Unitarian Universalist Church (695 Elmwood Avenue).

This
time around the June program’s theme is “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle in the
Village,” and the group will narrow their focus to concentrate on green choices
and quality of life issues.

Dave
Majewski, president of Premium Services Inc., Sustainable Horticulture & Landscaping,
will be the presenter for the program, and will be joined by panelists Michael
Gainer, founder of Buffalo ReUse, Andy Goldstein,
Erie County recycling coordinator
to the City of
Buffalo, and Julie Barrett
O’Neill, Esq., riverkeeper and executive director, Buffalo Niagara Riverkeeper.

The
presenter and panelists will cover such topics as water conservation, rainwater
harvesting and gardening, pollution issues, reuse of building materials, and
answer the question of why recycling is so important, and how to simplify the
process.

After
this week’s program, the programs are on hold until September. The remaining
schedule for the programs is as follows:

September 3rd:  Remember Last Winter? Let’s Get Green Ready
October 1st:      Making Your Systems Run Green
November 12th: Greening Your Energy Choices
December 10th: Green Dreams in a White Season
