Dayle Lynn Pomerantz is a recent author having just published two books this year, one in August and one in October. Now WNYers will have the opportunity to get her signature before she becomes the next big thing at the Buffalo Museum of Science. Pomerantz, who lives in Orchard Park, has written two books that teach parents and grandparents what they could be doing differently to have a better relationship with their children and grandchildren.
The book on parenting focuses on discovery and observation while teaching parents how to discover what it takes to create a happy and strong family. The book about being a grandparent is much the same, but it is based on Pomerantz’s interviews with grandparents and includes a set of a dozen “how-to’s” to show grandparents how to be the best grandparents possible. Both books showcase the importance of family ties and how to be good role models for children.
The book signing will take place at the Buffalo Museum of Science on December 5th from 6 until 8 PM during their “Holiday Shopping Night” at Chauncey’s Museum Shop. Though the exhibits will not be open during the event, patrons will be able to check out the great gifts in the shop and get their copies of the book signed. The books will be available that night for purchase and all purchases that night will have a discount of 20 percent for museum members and 10 percent for non-members. Plus, a new or gift museum membership to the museum will be sold at a $10 discount. For more information, call 896-5200 or visit the museum’s website.
Buffalo Rising
Sometimes the authors at Buffalo Rising work on collaborative efforts in order to cover various events and stories. These posts can not be attributed to one single author, as it is a combined effort. Often times a formation of a post gets started by one writer and passed along to one or more writers before completion. At times there are author attributions at the end of one of these posts. Other times, “Buffalo Rising” is simply offered up as the creator of the article. In either case, the writing is original to Buffalo Rising.
