It seems a lot of people are interested in running for the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in marathons around the country through their Team Cure Challenge program. Every person who participates in the program has a reason to run, and Carolyn Human is no different. She’ll run the 13.1-mile Disney Half Marathon this January and is busy gathering sponsors and donations to make her run worthwhile. She’s running in the memory of both of her grandmothers who lost their lives to cancer and to help reach her goal of $3,600, she’s holding an event at Omega Lounge.
Omega Lounge is helping Human hold “Help the Human Race Happy Hour” from 5 until 8 PM on December 4th. DJ Rob Decker will be spinning a three-hour set at the upscale bar and food and drink specials will abound. Tickets are $20 and go to help Human as she prepares to run the half marathon. What’s more is that CityLove Clothing is also helping Human by selling their wares during the Happy Hour and giving a portion of the proceeds to Human.
You can purchase tickets at CityLove Clothing at 901 Elmwood Avenue or by visiting Human’s website. From there, you can also watch her progress as she inches closer to reaching her goal by January. Come on out and support a good cause while checking out one of the newest bars on Chippewa.
Buffalo Rising
Sometimes the authors at Buffalo Rising work on collaborative efforts in order to cover various events and stories. These posts can not be attributed to one single author, as it is a combined effort. Often times a formation of a post gets started by one writer and passed along to one or more writers before completion. At times there are author attributions at the end of one of these posts. Other times, “Buffalo Rising” is simply offered up as the creator of the article. In either case, the writing is original to Buffalo Rising.
