Downtown’s newest sushi bar is already in expansion mode. Today I learned that they have committed to taking over the rather large storefront adjoining their current operation. And when I say ‘rather large’, I mean ‘rather large’. The space is sweet! I stepped inside thinking that this would be a small add-on… wrong! The new SeaBar expansion will see a noodle bar and a cocktail bar added to the mix. The concrete floors are gorgeous. This is an exciting move for operators Mike and Sherri Andrzejewski, who recently took the Ellicott oath and dedicated themselves to this growing business corridor.
In the next day or so WestCoast Perspective will have more exciting news taking place just around the corner from this location. And RaChaCha will be posting on details of the Genesee Block project. This part of the city is certainly coming together nicely, especially when you take into consideration its proximity to Chippewa, the Electric Tower building, and the M&T parking lot (hahaha… just kidding about the parking lot aka the original Chippewa Market). I’m also happy to report that SeaBar was packed for lunch today – let’s hope that the growth spurt continues to attract a solid crowd for both lunch and dinner.
