The Elmwood Market is a newcomer to the Elmwood Village scene but it’s making a great impression. It is a quaint market that packs a big lunch, they have a great deli and grill section that will make you want to grab something fresh and delicious before heading off to the beach, the park or back to work. You can grab pita, hummus and stuffed olives for a Mediterranean picnic or some yogurt, fruit and a wide variety of sandwich fixings for a family-friendly lunch. There have beer, organic soda, iced tea and so much more to quench your thirst.
If you have a minute, order one of Elmwood Markets many sandwiches or wraps.
You can choose from a fresh, spicy chicken wrap with Frank’s hot sauce or a Veggie wrap, which includes sautéed mushrooms, onions, spinach, tomato and cheese. The warmth and seasoning of the wrap complements the crispness of the fresh vegetables, making it a very flavorful wrap.
The market also features salads, hamburgers french fries, tacos and even a fish fry. For those of you who are in a rush, don’t despair; there is a great ready-made section with various salads and sandwiches. I sampled their seafood and antipasto salads which were both delicious. The seafood salad brought me back to when my family vacationed in New England, all I needed was a hot dog bun to put the salad in and I was right back there. There is sure to be something that will whet your appetite at the market.
So pack your picnic basket with some fresh sandwiches, salads, snacks and drinks and enjoy this beautiful summer while it lasts. The prices range from $4.99 for a small sandwich/sub to $6.99 for a wrap. Salads range from $1.50 to around $3. The $7.99 fish fry is the highest-priced deli item.
