Come watch a great band and support a great cause all in the same night. The City Mission is holding “Feed The City” a benefit concert that will take place Saturday, August 9, at 8 PM. The concert will take place at the Town Ballroom and will feature Middleman, opening for The Pillagers first ever full concert.
If you’ve never heard of the pillagers, don’t worry about being asked to buy a ticket to see them. Admission to the concert is yours for either a monetary donation or a non-perishable food item(s). Additionally, this is an all ages show and promised not to be a late night. Middleman will play from 8-9 PM while The Pillagers will perform from 9-11 PM. “After the show The Pillagers will personally meet and thank everyone and celebrate the combined success of the concert,” said Gary Zoldos, Pillager lead singer.
“The Pillagers is a straight forward rock and roll band with various influences like The Rolling Stones, and they’re “all veterans of the local music scene with each member having 10-20 years experience,” according to Zoldos.
The choice for The Pillagers to team up with the city mission has to do with their mission as a band with a conscience. “The Feed the City concert was the result of wanting to do something to help people in the local economy, as it’s getting worse day by day,” Zoldos said. 100 percent of the proceeds goes to Buffalo City Mission so that they may continue to provide food and shelter to local residents who are in need.
If you’re still uncertain whether you would like to help Feed the City, check out the Pillagers site by clicking here where you can listen to three of the 18 songs they will be playing at the event. If you’re still not sure you’d like to attend this event, keep in mind you’ll miss a lot of good company. Based on the past events, Zoldos is expecting a turnout of around 400.
