Taste of Buffalo Competition Grilling Competition

The staples of summer grilling usually include hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken and even vegetables. We can all think of a dozen recipes to make the best hamburger, the tangiest vegetables or the spiciest chicken on the grill.
One item that may not always be on the forefront of our minds when it comes to cooking on the grill is pork. There has been a lot of talk this year about the new cooking demonstration stages at this years Taste of Buffalo, which will be a very exciting addition to this years festivities, and hopefully be around for years to come.
Buffalo’s own Chef Donald Breitkrus of Harry’s Harbour Place Grill will be taking over the stage on July 12 demonstrating how to turn the other white meat into a fantastic staple for summer grilling. During Chef’s presentation he’ll be not only presenting some of his favorite recipes but he will also talk about the cuts of meat, getting to know your grill and how to make your pork into a memorable meal that will leave your friends and family clamoring for more.
Chef Breitkrus has teamed up with The Other White Meat Tour and will be calling all Buffalonians to share their recipes for their favorite pork recipes. At the Taste of Buffalo, consider offering your recipes– anything from an old family tradition to something you made up on the fly! They’ll be submitted into a national contest for a chance to meet celebrity chef, Guy Fieri, host of Guy’s Big Bite on the Food Network. Three lucky finalists will travel to New York City to compete in a live grill-off. The grand prize will include $5,000, a top-of-the-line Char-Broil grill and accessories.
If that seems out of reach, don’t get discouraged; one local person with the best and boldest recipe will take home $500 from Tops Market, one of the sponsors of The Taste of Buffalo!
Buffalo, let’s show the The Other White Meat Tour what we’ve got! Creative culinary types should submit their recipes this weekend at the Taste of Buffalo.
