Bryan Bryndle and Tara Tara Dejoseph recently opened Tabree at 423 Elmwood Avenue. Visitors should not be fooled by the small interior seating area – a walk through the dining area will reveal one of the largest outdoor patios in all of Buffalo. The combination of a quaint, dimly lit, indoor setting and the expansive outdoor escape will offer diners the chance to choose between two completely different experiences. Last Sunday we tested out Tabree’s Sunday brunch menu, then on Thursday we popped in to have dinner with some out-of-town friends who claimed that it was one of the best French restaurants that they had ever been to (they actually went two consecutive nights in a row).
I am a big fan of the outside eating space at Tabree. The owners were very clever in the way they have worked out a symbiotic relationship with Benjamin’s Art Gallery next door. After talking with the gallery owners, a deal was struck which allowed the French restaurant to incorporate additional bistro tables into a romantic alleyway, tucked away from the main outdoor dining patio. Now diners have the option to sit in a lush garden-style atmosphere, or they can join friends on the spruced-up elevated patio. No matter where you sit, indoor or out, be prepared to immerse yourself into Parisian downtempo music and French Provencial cuisine. Look for the YUM review to appear in the upcoming print edition of Buffalo Rising Magazine.
