As Rediscover Amherst Street approaches this Saturday, June14th, the Grant Amherst Street Business Association has finalized an extensive list of activities. I am happy to say that we have 23 artists and crafters setting up in what was once an empty lot next to Casey’s Tavern (see original post).
Along with this new addition, we have the “Best Pie in Black Rock Contest”, tours of the beautiful Assumption Church, St. John’s Strawberry Festival, trolley rides along Amherst street and a parade at noon (see full list below). These are just a few of the many activities occurring between 10a.m. to 6p.m. this Saturday. Another new addition this year is an event being sponsored by Sportsmen’s Tavern (326 Amherst Street). It is called ‘Rock the Lot’ and features the following artists:
12-12:45 Blue Eagle String Band
1:00-1:45 Ron Davis and Friends
2:00-2:45 John and Mary with the Valkyries
3:00-3:45 Marc Winsick Band
4:00-4:45 Gretchen Schultz
5:00-5:45 Myron and Those Idiots
6:00-6:45 Dee and the House Cats
This event is free and families are welcome! Please stop by and visit our business district with the old world charm this Saturday. You will not be disappointed – and here’s a partial event line-up for that day:
*Make sure that you stop by the soft launch for the Rock Harbor Village from 4-7pm. John and Mary and the Valkyrie’s will be performing. Look for the Rock Harbor Village float in the parade!!! (details here)
