This year’s 5th Annual free 2008 Bacchus Summer Film Series looks like it has something for everyone… and then some. There are some real standouts in the crowd, namely Manchurian Candidate, American Graffiti, Slap Shot, and Psycho…
Of course there are some others that people will clamor to see, but those four should prove to be perfect for outdoor viewing along with a crowd. The original Manchurian Candidate (with Sinatra) rocks… for the time period that it was released there are some incredibly controversial scenes. Of course American Graffiti is a staple for any nostalgic movie lover, and don’t forget that every year the Hanson Brothers (from Slap Shot) grace us with their presence at the World’s Largest Disco downtown. Psycho? “No! I tell you no! I won’t have you bringing some young girl in for supper! By candlelight, I suppose, in the cheap, erotic fashion of young men with cheap, erotic minds!”
Bacchus is a great venue to celebrate summer on Chippewa. *Every Wednesday from June 4th to September 17th in the back courtyard (food and wine available). After dark, the movie will begin, approximately 8:30 PM. Both table and aisle seating is available, but reservations will only be taken for tables. Due to high demand, it is highly suggested to arrive early to secure a seat. Blankets are welcome. This event is shine only and due to mature viewing content, the Summer Film Series is not suggested for children.
Bacchus is located at 56 West Chippewa @ Franklin, phone: 716.854.WINE (9463). Visit them online at www.ultimaterestaurants.com for menus and additional info. And don’t forget to grab dinner before the show – of course there will be plenty of free popcorn for dessert. Free Valet every Friday and Saturday evening.
