G.O. Buffalo – Call to All Artists!

Have you ever wanted to have your work prominently displayed on Elmwood Avenue? Well now is your chance.
Bill Sidel, building owner at 1086 Elmwood Ave., contacted Green Options Buffalo with an offer to utilize the South facing wall of his building (a 7’ x 10’ space) for putting up a mural that would support our new organization.
Bill stated, “returning from a trip to the Netherlands after seeing and being a user of a transportation system that is expressly built for pedestrians, cyclists, mothers with baby carriages and the like, I realized the importance of having such a system for personal safety, the positive contribution it has on the environment, the ability to improve your health and the ability to save money for residents; besides that fact that it is FUN! And thought why don’t we have more here?”
Green Options Buffalo has partnered with Bill and the Elmwood Village Association to implement a public art installation as part of our launch that must have the theme which supports our mission: Provide Healthy, Environmentally Sustainable, and Community Friendly Transportation within Greater Buffalo!
Entry Procedure:
The mural must relate to the Green Options Buffalo mission: Provide Healthy, Environmentally Sustainable, and Community Friendly Transportation within Greater Buffalo! And incorporate the Green Options Buffalo logo and Elmwood Village Association logo creatively into the design.
The winning artist will receive a $100 award and be responsible for painting the mural on the building.
All submissions should identify the materials to be used in installing the mural. Consideration will be given to longevity and ability to withstand the elements.
Selection of artwork for the mural project will be made through the review of submitted digital images. When submitting images, only send jpgs, at least 300 dpi and at least 3” x 5” in size.
Send any questions to buffalobluebikes@gmail.com, submissions must be emailed no later then June 12th at 4pm to the same address.
All submissions shall imply an agreement with Green Options Buffalo with the artist to utilize any artwork for future projects with the artists consent.
