MTA: Garrett M. Graff

Politics is an ever-changing field of study. The more it is bound, the more it breaks free into new areas as society changes. Garrett M. Graff is an author who has followed politics on his blog, as the first ever blogger allowed into a White House press briefing. He is the editor at the Washingtonian magazine and he has made numerous radio and television appearances. It is without a doubt that he is fully enveloped in the world of politics and so it is without surprise that he wrote a book about the changing face of politics.
Graff makes arguments in his book that globalization has made technology the medium and message of 2008. He says that technology has changed the campaign process and that the domestic issues have become global issues. He’ll be reading an excerpt from his book at the Student Union Theater on UB’s North Campus as part of WBFO’s Meet The Author series on February 19 at 7pm.
The event will be hosted by Bert Gambini and following the reading will be a book signing with light refreshments where the attendees can have a chance to meet the author in person. This event is free and open to the public and all are encouraged to attend. Graff’s book, The First Campaign: Globalization, the Web, and the Race for the White House, will be available at the event and is provided by Talking Leaves Bookstore.
