Digging Cobblestone

Construction is underway at the Benlin warehouse in the Cobblestone District. Savarino Cos. and Avalon Development are converting the circa 1930’s building at 95 Perry Street into a mix of office, retail and apartment space. Work on the signature project is expected to be completed in the spring.
Web page recognition or not, the Empire State Development Corporation is taking the top two floors, approximately 30,000 sq.ft., for its “upper New York office.” The Erie County Industrial Development Agency is considering moving into the building to join the state agency. The project will also feature ground floor retail/restaurant space and nine apartments on the second floor.

Earlier phases of the Cobblestone project behind HSBC Arena involved renovation of a four-story mid-block building into 18,000 sq.ft. of office space and conversion of a one-story terminal building into retail/restaurant space anchored by WJ Morrissey’s.
