Check this out folks. For $10 you get your own bare gingerbread house, and all of the goodies you can think of with which to decorate it to your hearts desire! So round up all the kids you know, young and young at heart, and stop in. Make one for yourself, to take to a party, to take to Grandmas house, you get the idea. Re-discover your Inner elf!
When you walk into the Lexington General Store (LGS), you are met with a friendly atmosphere…folks reading various papers and magazines, friendly conversations, …but take the opportunity to explore this very eclectic scene. Toward to back of the store, you will find the gingerbread house making table, very cool holiday paintings, (think Charlie Brown, and Santa), and a host of other interesting offerings. At the very back of the store is a comfortable, and very large sectional couch, with other comfy seating. Hey! You could bring 10 or more kids and family members, and not feel cramped for space.
So come and make a gingerbread house, a traditional symbol of Christmas, to take home, take to the Grandparents, take to a holiday party, etc. It is a bunch of fun. And, as a thought, you could also donate these wonderful gifts to a worthy cause, and/or organization.
Lexington General Store also has a good selection of Christmas trees for sale, ranging from $10 to $60–a good price anywhere. The fun continues today and next weekend, Saturday December 22 and Sunday, December 23. The Lexington General Store, at 230 Lexington, is open all week, from 7-9, and on the weekends, from 9 – 9.
While you’re in the neighborhood, get some holiday shopping done at Wild Things. I love going there this time of year. There’s something for everyone on your list, and all of those pretty glittery jewels! Then have dinner or take out at Kuni’s, (Saturday 5-9)…maybe get a gift certificate for Yoga at Shakti Yoga.
So many holiday things to do, so little time, and all right next to each other.
