New World Record is stepping up its live performance showcase and they’re looking for local bands that want some exposure. It’s a Thursday night concert series that is aimed at getting music fans, both young and old, excited up listening to live music. What a fun way to learn about who’s playing and what they’re playing. We’ve seen a surge in these types of venues in recent years – from the live venues on Allen and Delaware to WBFO’s Live in Allen Hall concert series. Of course Buffalo State College’s WBNY 91.3 has been paving the way for bands over the years… the added exposure for local bands is a welcome sign that fans can tune in more and more to what’s happening in the WNY music scene. Now, with New World’s freshly built stage on the scene, Hertel has a venue that is ripe for weekly shows.
New World is currently filling the Thursday night slots, and the lucky bands to sign up first will have the added benefit of selling CDs and promotional items throughout the holidays. The store is weighing in heavily on the acoustic (more mellow) acts, but they are not discounting any styles of music. Shoppers will even see storewide discounts while the performances are going on. The first bands will take to the stage the week after Thanksgiving – shows start around 7pm. Be one of the first bands to sign up by sending an email here… or stop in to the store or call Paul or Eric at 716-883-3472. Rock on New World.
