Check Out The Historic Parkside Neighborhood

There are a lot of walking tours these days. Here is one that appears to be very interesting considering recent turns of events. It’s a walking tour of the historic Parkside neighborhood on Saturday, October 13, beginning at 10 am, (rain or shine). Take, for example, the Central Presbyterian Church (now Mount St. Joseph Academy) featured in the above photo. After the Buffalo Academy of Science Charter school picked up and moved downtown, Mount St. Joseph Academy moved right in and is now operational at the site. Just a few doors down is the grand old Pierce Arrow Building, which now has a wonderful people park next door. This neighborhood has an interesting history that will be discussed during the two-hour tour. Thanks to The Parkside Community Association (PCA) for putting together a tour that will shed some light on another neighborhood filled with a good number of recent success stories
*This walking tour begins at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 96 Jewett Parkway. Admission to the tour is $10 or $8 for PCA members. Payment can be made by cash or check (payable to the PCA) the morning of the tour. For further information, contact the Parkside Community Association at 716-838-1240 during normal business hours.
