A new exhibition is taking place at the Museum of Science until September 1st that is not solely for children or tourists. Everyone in Buffalo should experience the appropriately named “Bug Bash”, in honor of the critters that creep and crawl over our earth, to truly appreciate our minute friends.
It is a bug’s life. In one exhibit, try on bug goggles while attempting to weave, tunnel and climb through an obstacle course. Next find yourself lost in the corridors of some unique bug homes and then design one to be submitted to the bug experts. But these exhibits are not the only ones that will get your human blood pumping! Join other museum goers as they compete with their flea friends in the “Insect Olympics”. For ages 8 and up, the Museum offers Insectigations. Insectigations includes a “scientific look at the circle of life with real bugs feeding off animal carcasses, a 15-foot stream table habitat for bugs that walk on water, as well as a giant ant colony.”
Have a child that craves dirt under his nails? This exhibit at the Buffalo Museum of Science provides the perfect atmosphere for a birthday party and your backyard will remain intact. Included with the birthday party package is a two-hour room rental, a one-hour Educational Experience, lesson materials, museum visit, table set-up, gift storage, and party clean up. Two adult chaperons are invited free of charge. “Flutter on over to explore the multitudes of cool miniature marvels that actually rule the world!”
