The Buffalo Society of Natural Sciences plans to announce a new CEO on Monday July 23rd at 10AM in a press conference. The new CEO has the responsibility of overseeing the Buffalo Museum of Science, Tift Nature Preserve, Elmwood Science Spot, and the Hiscock Site.
The Buffalo Society of Natural Science is focused on increasing the scientific literacy and the respect for our environment through these public venues. The Science Museum itself has been an example of furthering education through interaction and has stood in the East Side community for more than 100 years. Their vision is that the chosen CEO, a businessman from a national firm, will bring more residents and tourists to the Science Museum, Tift Nature Preserve and the other sites.
Board Vice Chair Randall E. Burkhard, President of Science Kit & Boreal Laboratories will announce the name of the new CEO. Board member Lawrence G. Flood, dean of the School of Natural & Social Sciences Buffalo State College; acting CEO Carroll Ann Simon; director of science and collections John R. Grehan; director of the Center for Science Learning Karen Wallace and director of external relations & chief development officer, Thomas A. LaFleur will all be in attendance to address any concerns.
