Learn how to utilize your favorite herbs to their full potential at this workshop and tasting event, which takes place at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens. Between 6-9 PM on June 14, the WNY Herb Study Group will put on demonstrations and chefs from Curly’s will disclose some culinary secrets.
Some of the demonstration tables include how to make lavender cookies and scented geranium cake, lemon balm tea bread and lemon verbena dip, and linguine with sun-dried tomatoes and parsley. Herbal dips, teas, and iced teas will be available to sample.
At 6:30 PM, Suzanne Duecker (President of the WNY Herb Study Group) will explore, in full costume, the history of Victorian teas and explain how to make your own from fresh and dried herbs. Every half hour thereafter will signal the start of a new demonstration (a few highlights include how to make New Orleans-style Muffaletta sandwiches, fresh vegetable pasta, and how to preserve your fresh herbs year-round).
Herbs are versatile and can add so much to your food and drink if used properly. Take advantage of a fun way to learn some new tips and tricks!
Tickets for the event are reasonable at $10 and may be purchased by phone at 827.1584 x 204.
