Hey there BRO viewers. Thanks for hanging in there while we work out our post launch kinks. We’re pleased with initial responses, and are aware of trouble spots. As for register issues, have added a notification that passwords must be at least six characters in length and are in the process of adding more functionality to make registration easier. There are some browser compatibility issues that we are also in the process – those are being worked on. Traffic is pretty heavy today, and to deal with that increased traffic we are quickly exploring ways to optimize the site and enable even more users to be on at the same time.
The channel tabs are now located at the top of the page. One of the features that I think you will enjoy is the bookmark feature. If you see a new restaurant review (like Kuni’s for example) and you’re afraid that you might lose the post… just click on Bookmark It! The post gets added to your favorites until you no longer need to be reminded. Same with events.
If you like what someone on BRO has to say, why not add that person as a friend? That person will then appear on your BRO home page. Then, you can send messages to other registrants on BRO. Click on their icon and get in touch. Looking for someone? Search for them in profiles (click on open/close box to see list of all of your friends). Remember, most of these features work only when you are signed-in.
Let us know what you dig about the new site, and tell us what you think needs fixin’. If there are specific categories that are of interest to you, subscribe to them (at the end of the story) and we will email alerts when those categories have been added to or updated. Or, if you want to see what’s happening on some of the blogs in Buffalo, head over to Local Headlines to catch up with what they’re saying. We hope you have fun looking around BRO today.
