Saturday, October 21, 2006, the third annual Emerald Ball will fill the Golden Ballroom of the Statler Towers with the music and dance of Ireland. The event brings together 450 attendees to celebrate Irish heritage and support the work of area Irish cultural organizations.
Since itis inception, the Ball has provided grants to: Buffalo Irish Center, Irish Cultural & Folk Art Assoc. WNY, Lockport Feis at the Falls, Buffalo Irish Genealogical Society, WNY Famine Monument, the Belfast Summer Relief Program and the United Irish American Association.
Entertainment for this black tie gala will feature the return of Eileen Fogarty & The Very Best from New York City, who were the highlight of the first two events, as well as the world champion Rince na Tiarna dancers. Opening the night will be Brian Conway, Brendan Dolan and John Whelan playing traditional fiddle & pipe music.
The Emerald Ball is sponsored by Sugarman Law Firm. MPB Travel has donated the Door prize of a trip for 2 to Ireland. This will be the third year that Pat Byrne of MPB Travel and his family have made this prize available to attendees.
