The time has come… for all of you who live in Allentown to consider engaging as members with the Allentown Association! Not sure? If you live within Summer, Main, Tupper or Plymouth, you can be a transformative influence in your own Buffalo neighborhood. Anchored by sculptured bus stops and welcome signs at Main & Allen or North & Porter, the whole area simply bursts with energy. There’s always untapped potential and missed opportunities if voices are not heard and ideas are not realized.
“What is this atmosphere in Allentown that is so appealing to those involved in the creative effort? It is difficult to define as feelings always are, but those who reside there sense it and remain because of it. Part of it is its diversity, its mental stimulation, its vitality, and its neighborhood spirit but more than that, it’s the respect in which Allentown holds the individual- and the freedom, understanding and appreciation it gives [them].” – Allentown News, December 1969
What could be better, than to act as an individual for the betterment of your own neighborhood? The Elmwood Village is doing it. Hertel is doing it. Chippewa has done it. Even City Hall is getting a makeover. Allentown looks wonderful these days though it takes a dedicated crew to keep it up to snuff. Please consider joining an association that needs your help.
Inspired yet? Think things could be done differently or better? Now’s the time to make a change… look for a membership application on your doorstep this week, or download the form from www.allentown.org. Better yet, visit the Allentown Association’s new office at 14 Allen Street and introduce yourself, or call: 716.881.1024.
Be a “vigorous voice for the neighborhoodis interests”!
