How sweet it is… a music showcase that defies the typical ‘rock concerts’ we’re so used to seeing these days. The upcoming four part music series will focus on large, live ensembles that transcend funk, jazz, hip-hop, house, dub, reggae, world and beat… each show will feature on-site artists using every medium from graffiti to acrylic. By utilizing one of the best outdoor spaces in downtown Buffalo (The Calumet on Chippewa), the music series is going to show, once again, that this city’s music scene is off the hook. If you attended the King Sunshine show last year then you know what a great scene this is.
It all starts this Friday with the Pocket Dwellers, a 7-piece outfit with musicians ranging from classically or jazz trained, to street-smart and self taught.
‘A muscular hybrid of hip-hop & jazz… paired with more soul than should be allowed’ -Calgary Herald
