Little Terks on the Niagara River
![]()
What could be better than a hamburger and a hotdog while enjoying views of the Niagara River? If that sounds good to you then why not head over to Little Terks for a casual lunch at a hotdog and hamburger stand. The place is named after Bob's (photo) daughter (it’s her nickname), who was not working today, but Bob was running the show and preparing our food with his own Texas hot-sauce. A couple of root beers and a seven-minute wait was all it took for us to be sitting out on a picnic bench by the water.
I love places like this. Until today I had no idea that there was even a place called Little Terks. Now it's a spot that I will think about when I'm looking for quick bite to eat on a warm summer day. As far as I know there is no address for the joint. In order to find it you must drive down Niagara Street until you hit the corner of Ontario Street. If you're coming from downtown then swing a left and head towards the water. You'll see a small park to the left, and off to the right is the city's only free boat launch. It's all on the way to Riverside Park. And don't forget that you can take a bike from downtown. The river bike trail will take you the whole way. Little Terks will be open through September.
You can also get here by taking the Ontario Street Exit off 190 North. The problem is heading South...
I have often wondered if a little visibility could help this place be more popular. The menu may be regular but the view is exceptional and the breeze coming off the river on hot days is great to be near. To me it's a better place to go for Hot Dogs than more well known Hot Dog Stands inland.
