The Theatre District's Cabaret restaurant is proving to be a lunch time favorite. Every time I stop in it seems that they are busier then the last time I visited. But don't let that deter you. This is a restaurant- and a staff- that can handle a busy lunch.
Cabaret offers a great menu that caters to all kinds of people. They serve burgers, sandwiches, wraps, salads, pastas, specials- anything that you might want to have can be ordered here. By and large it is all very good, and the prices are even better.
The sun streams in the windows, filling the newly-remodeled building with a warm glow. There is a lot of seating and the floor plan is open. You won't be wedged into a corner here- even if you're with a large party and it's busy. The acoustics are good, so you won't end up yelling at your companion in the hopes of being heard. They even have their own parking lot.
All of these things make it a perfect place to spend your lunch hour. As anyone that dines out for lunch knows, it can be hard to find good food at a decent price in a pleasant environment with only 45 minutes to spare.
Last week I suggested Cabaret as an ideal spot to a group of eight that were spending the day downtown at a dental convention. They had made reservations and so were seated quickly. They said the service was great and that they thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Most importantly, they were in and out quickly and didn't feel at all rushed.
While you're there check out the dinner menu as well. It's equally comprehensive and loaded with comfort food. Next time you want to take the family out for a bite, skip those stale chain restaurants and come to the Cabaret.
Cabaret is located at 490 Pearl Street. Reservations can be made by calling 842-4181.
