Branding Makes Scents

emanwfw.jpg
Once again an independent business has the good marketing 'scents' to take name branding to the next level. Gallery 51 is putting their name where their noses are. They have brought in two new lines - a candle line and an aroma line, and both are labeled with their business name and logo. No, the owners did not go out and invest thousands of dollars to manufacture these goods, what they did instead was to find the products that they liked and worked with the wholesaler to add their own brand identity. Why is this smart? First of all it re-enforces the store's name with whoever is on the receiving end of the product. A gift box can only go so far... same with a tag. This sort of branding stays with the product for... well... the life of the product.

In the above photo, Eman (a clever sale's associate) holds up a Gallery 51 Tahitian black ginger reed diffuser. The packaging was so attractive that instead of asking a bunch of questions I just made the purchase. I was intrigued by the look of the bottle (and accessories) and was curious how flameless aroma therapy worked. Each True Aroma runs $22.95, but the product lasts a lot longer than its fiery counterparts. The reeds release a subtle aromatic smell into the air without overwhelming the olfactory glands. Gallery 51 scented candles come with a branded matchbook tag... now that is creative! Gallery 51 is located at 567-569 Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo. 716-332-6821
