Lubiam 1911

A new line of military inspired casual wear (outerwear) has found its way to Lu Modern Classics in Buffalo. LMC is the first store in the US to carry the Italian line, Lubiam 1911, which is imported directly to the Elmwood shop. From there the line will roll out to stores like Bergdorf-Goodman for spring. This is another example of Buffalo beating the big guys to the punch. So why is it so cool that Lou Schreiber (owner) is bringing to Buff what other cities have not yet scored? In recent weeks Lou has seen a weekly rise in out-of-town shoppers visiting his shop. "A lot of my shoppers are coming in from Rochester and Toronto... and I've even started seeing clients come in as far away as Cleveland. And last week a bus full of Japanese tourists pulled up who had come from The Falls."
Lu Modern Classics has certainly captured the imagination of shoppers both through its lines and its looks. Lou has been in talks with the BERC in regards to teaching a course in retail set-up and design. His store has already been filmed in the BERC's Best Of video that will be released as a promotional tool for the City of Buffalo. Hey Lou, you've come a long way in a very short period of time. Keep the wheels turning and keep cranking out those sweet displays... people are definitely paying attention. LMC is located at 504 Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo (716) 881-7283

This is great! It's about time our favorable dollar helped lure in some of our Canadian friends for a shopping trip. I'm excited to see the Italian take on military wares and compare it to ours. Best of luck!
I'm glad this city is again becoming a shopping destination for even out of town visitors. Can't wait to see this spread into Downtown soon.
