Bubble-icious

Earlier this summer Mike C sent me a link to a photo that he captured of the infamous Allentown bubble blower. After a few days I could not find the link and forgot about the post. While at Cafe Taza today I noticed hundreds of bubbles blowing down the avenue and took the opportunity to snap a photo... mainly because I can not believe that this guy has spent the summer smokin' his cigs, and blowing bubbles with his electric fan.
He has become quite infamous throughout the neighborhood and a few local experts claim that our bubble man is Jim's (Jim's Steakout) brother named Chuck. Supposedly he does come down from his perch from time to time. Now I know that I will get some grief for this post - for not covering the 'more important' things happening in Buffalo... but I think the bubble guy is pretty cool. For those of you who think this is a trivial post (like the ATM story), just click below:
I love the Bubble Man! I remember Allentown's bubbles from when I first moved here close to 15 years ago. Is it possible that he's been up to it this long? Or maybe the tradition was passed on? Either way, more adults should blow bubbles- publicly!
Awesome! One more reason for me to move to Buffalo!
I agree Christa, more adults should blow bubbles in public...We should never lose our whimsical, child like wonder and sense of fun :)
I forgot to mention... how fitting that he has a Peace Prints dove in his window?
Only in Allentown! I think the Bubbles are GREAT! Keep em coming. I have seen this guy in action. He can get quite busy with those bubbles!
All posts don't have to be cutting edge breaking news flashes. Sometimes they can be just fun little things like this one. Actually, I fully expected a post to appear on BR on this very topic eventually. Good job.
seems like we sould take a collection and buy this guy an automatic bubble machine for all of his efforts.
Thank you Bubble man... we love you
Super environmental friendly and creative marketing, copy cats wanted.
Adore the Bubble Man. Makes me smile everytime I drive through the bubbles.
Newell, here's the photo I took in June:

Thanks for sharing this guy's story.
Thank you Bubble Man! I see you when heading home.
nice riposte, QE. I bust a gut when I clicked though and saw the ATM photo! :)
I snapped a photo of that corner around the same time and only noticed the man behind the bubbles later when I viewed it on my computer. It's fascinating to zoom way in and check out stuff you didn't see at first.
I was calling him the mad bubbler and love his aspect of this eclectic neighborhood. It's fun to see that other people enjoy it, as well.
