Thursday At The Square Announcement!

http://www.buffalorising.com/trend/archives/upload/2006/05/thurssched-thumb.jpg
The line-up for the most anticipated concert series to take place in Buffalo was announced just minutes ago. The free concert series kicks off May 25th, and then continues on for the following fourteen Thursdays. The event marks its 20th year this season, which is truly remarkable. Each Thursday, crowds that number between 16,000 and 18,000 people show up to listen to a wide array of musicians. Brought to you by the gang at Buffalo Place as well as other sponsors (listed above), Thursday at the Square has been wildly successful in its efforts to bring thousands of people to downtown Buffalo. Pick your favorites or try to make them all. Click on the image to get a close-up of the bands.

I'm excited by the lineup. The Violent Femmes were the first "real" concert I ever willingly went to, about 14-15 years ago. M. Doughty and India.Arie should be good as well.
A lot of big names, should draw big crowds and be good for business.
Too bad no Broken Social Scene though. Hands down the best TATS ever!

good one anon. I'm a fan of Sloan myself. Has there ever been any consideration of relocating the venue as it now seems to have outgrown the current location for a few years now....maybe Niagara Square?
