Since 1987, one retail store in Allentown has been introducing women to their own personal fashion trends year after year. The Allen Street Dress Shop at 89 Allen St. is a one-stop shop where ladies of any age can find something that fits their own selective style. Every time I walk into the chic, ladies fashion boutique, I am undone by the wonderful hand made jewelry. Each piece is designed for an utmost, eye-catching experience. The vintage and new eveningwear blends together seamlessly, and the functional, yet stylish business attire suits the every day working women perfectly. Funky skirts and scarves round out the choices of casualwear and accessories. The space is amazingly large with so much to offer… you can literally spend a day in The Dress Shop just browsing through find after find.

The boutique stocks pieces from all around the world - old and new, funky and contemporary. There is so much creativity here that to put together an ensemble may, in essence, create a new you. "The customers are a mix of art teachers, baby boomers, students, international travelers, young and old", says owner, Danielle.

When I asked Danielle about her view of fashion in Buffalo overall, her reply was simply, "Fashion in Buffalo is looking really good these days, seems people are gearing more towards a more unique look, their own creativity, brings people back to the city and away from the malls".
