Last night we were fortunate enough to get a pre-release viewing of a very unusual short film, which will be launching tonight online. This edocu-tor-mentaryi is the first of its kind (and probably the last of its kind) to be featured in any sort of media-esque capacity.
The person who has produced this four minute short wishes to remain anonymous, but he/she has extensively toured the Richardson Complex (and no itis not me) and, get ready for this, has captured a series of strange anomalies on film. Now, when we watched the film, most everyone in the room was skeptical. But after viewing the short repeatedly for an extended period of timeOe well, there really was some bizarre footage that we literally could not believe.
The site that is (at midnight tonight) being launched, HauntedFilm.com, features 700+ photos of the inside and outside of the Richardson Complex (free), which is reason enough to visit the site. There are also numerous archival newspaper articles, historical information on the hospitalis architecture, and a message board for visitors. The siteis producer has really pulled together an extraordinary amount of information on the old psych center.
iThe clips came from over 14 hours of footageOe make note that I was not even aware of what I was capturing during the shoots. Only after the shoots did I realize that the footage revealed images that had previously gone unnoticed.i
The movie is not free and Buffalo Rising wishes to express that the site is ultimately just as fascinating as the movie. The producer of the short is a eghost-chaseri and feels that this is his version of giving a tour or renting a public movie space. In other words, Buffalo Rising is relaying the fact that the site is well worth the visit, and if you are interested in the paranormal you might want to check out the short.
To tell you the truth, I didnit catch any of the paranormal activity until the second viewing, and then we slowed down the footage to everifyi what our eyes were seeing. In the movie a gate in the basement of the complex visibly opens as the cameraperson approaches. There are orbs, which some people believe are spirits and others think are a crock. The amazing thing was the ecapturei of two shadowy objects at different points in the film that pass in front of the camera. One appears in a hallway and the other in a window frame. They are not obvious and can be hard to see. That is why the producer has designed the download as a epay once, view all you wanti viewing.
The site is free, the movie is $1.99. Itis short, and had I seen it only once I would have been very disappointed. It was only because we were able to watch the film numerous times that I even decided to post this. I am not recommending spending the money unless you really want to take the time to analyze the footage carefully. Even then there are no guarantees. Check out the site though. Itis pretty cool because itis the Richardson ComplexOe not just the wings, but the administration building as well.
Oh, by the way, rumor has it that since the film has been shot, all access to the complex has been sealed tight with cement. Rumor also has it that two years ago someone was caught breaking in and was fined $5,000, spent some time in jail, and is on probation for seven years, and canit come within a thousand feet of the building.
