If you are still looking for those perfect hanging flower baskets, or
special guormet foods for the Fourth of July weekend, why not stop by
your local farmer’s market. Last Saturday, Bidwell Parkway was really
buzzing as a number of people showed up to find a wide variety of
locally produced vegetables, jams and honeys, vegan wraps, and even a
selection of meats. Forever Elmwood’s Bob Franke was their to lend a
hand, as was Karl Frizlen, one of the market’s founders. As the market
grows, so does the group of people that support it. The farmers pack up
their goods around 12:30, which allows even the latest of sleepers to
stock up their fridge for the week.
