Feed Your Soul is bringing another exciting event to Buffalo starring local producers. Dinner Afield will be held at Hoyt Lake and will consist almost entirely of locally produced food. To top it off, around a quarter of the diners who partake in the event will be the very farmers, cheese makers, bread makers, and vintners who bring to Buffalo their products.
Dinner Afield will offer the opportunity to eat a meal with the very people who produced it. Hoyt Lake was chosen for its colorful backdrop and scenery, but also to call attention to the Buffalo Olmsted Park Conservancy. A portion of the proceeds from the dinner will go right back to the Conservancy as a way of showcasing the importance of the park system in Buffalo.
Diners will be seated on tables right on the edge of the lake in front of the Marcy Casino. The elegant tables will be festooned with refined décor as diners are served on platters assembled by chef JJ Richert of Torches Restaurant. As guests dine and chat, they will get to listen to Paul Kozlowski, a musician who has composed scores for local plays.
Around 140 people are expected at the dinner and as this is the first Dinner Afield ever held, Feed Your Soul would like to see this grow to three or four dinners a year. With the support of artisan food producers and winemakers, it is lofty goal they will surely meet. Tickets to the dinner are $150 each or $250 for a pair. They can be purchased using a credit card here or if paying by check, you can call 812-1615. To learn more about Feed Your Soul, visit their website.
