The School of Architecture and Planning http://www.ap.buffalo.edu/ has long been one of the most proactive academic departments at the University of Buffalo. It has been involved with city of Buffalo planning and community issues going back as far as its inception the 1970’s. There is no coincidence that the School of Architecture is the lone non-medical school remaining on the Main Street Campus. The School has also made a concerted effort in recent years to document and make available to the public much of the valuable work and research generated yearly by students, faculty, and visiting scholars. The result of that effort is an attractive and growing series of publications sponsored by the School dubbed Buffalo Books.
These books and periodicals focus on ideas and design for the built environment. Published by the School of Architecture and Planning at the University at Buffalo, the series documents significant lectures at the School as well as special events and recent design work. The books contribute to the speculative investigation of design in architecture and planning and makes this information accessible for students and those with an interest in architecture, planning, and the construction of the physical environment throughout the world. They are available at book stores and at the School of Architecture and Planning.
