The Elmwood Village, recently designated as one of the Ten Best Neighborhoods in America by the American Planning Association, is located on the upper West Side of the City of Buffalo.
Over the course of the next four weeks, our video camera will follow Elmwood Village Association's Executive Director, Justin Azzarella, through a series of Elmwood Village locations. Each week we'll focus on one of the four colored-coded banner districts along Elmwood Avenue. The districts are designated by blue, green, yellow and red banners, from north to south, beginning at Forest Avenue.
This week we'll focus on the Blue Banner District and take you inside beautifully unique shops and restaurants including Sweet & Dirty, room, Elmwood Village Fabrics, Cose Fini and J.P. Bullfeathers.

So you want to shop within the city limits, but you’ve never done it before? Never fear! BR to the rescue. Gathered here are great gift picks found at businesses in Buffalo from a number of thoughtful people.
I sent out an email to friends and acquaintances who are very Buffalo oriented in various ways. A lot of us still have gifts to find, and there are a good number of people who are making presents this year in order to keep spending down. Still, gathered here are some terrific ideas.

I visited Joe DiPasquale and Tanya Zabinski today at the Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts (EAFA) headquarters, and home of their tshirt printing studios, Planet Love. Joe is the Director of the EAFA, and when I walked in, he was seated on the floor, surrounded by files, calling vendors from whom he still needed various fees and forms. He took a break to tell me about the other items he would be overseeing between now and Saturday morning at 10 am when the Festival starts.
With the assistance of the 20 (unpaid) staff, he will tick of the list the following: move 2 huge truckloads of stuff; the tent company will set up 10 big tents; set up 3 stages; set up the sound for the stages; tables and chairs for KidsFest; set up 4 outposts with water, fruit, tshirts, banners, maps…
