Hopefully, by the end of this month, our chilly winter season will begin to fade into spring. Of course we look forward to the warmer temperatures and the bounty of the early growing season. But it is not yet time to push aside some of the best aspects of winter, one of them being the warmth and comfort imparted by a simple, robust meal shared with family and friends. WJ Morrissey’s, the Cobblestone District’s abandoned terminal turned Irish pub, opened its doors on St. Patrick’s Day and has been serving pints and shots to Sabres fans ever since. Last week, they began offering customers a limited pub menu.
The interior is stunning; no detail was left to chance. For those of you interested in that aspect of the building, I’ve included a number of links below to the many posts that were featured on BR during the construction process.
Last week, when I discovered that they had the kitchen up and running, I decided to stop in. Since the Buffalo Rising office is located next door it seemed like an obvious choice for a bit of lunch.
