How can you say no to the Wines, Cidres and Chocolates of NY Festival? Especially when you think that the event will be held at the historic Central Terminal. The more I read about this festival the more I don't want to miss it. Not only will there be a number of ethnic restaurants serving up fare, there will also be a farmers' market. The market and the restaurants all swing into full gear at 12:30pm. Then, the wine and cidre tasting takes place from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. I'm sure that many of you have sucked down a few beers at The Terminal... now it's your turn to invite some of your wine (and cidre) loving friends over to the East Side to partake in some good, old-fashioned fun (and chocolate).

Presale tickets $20.00 on line here or from Ulrich's, Flying Bison, Chateau Buffalo, Bistro Europa, and more to be listed. Tickets at the door $25.00. The festival, brought to you by the Central Terminal Restoration Corporation, will take place on June 28th.

katiemd - I had the same question last year when I heard about this event. Erwin Rakoczy who makes Dancing Buffalo cidre for Chateau Buffalo explained that in England all cider is "hard cider" there is no need to differentiate like there is in the US. He also said the 'cidre' is the French and Spanish spelling and also a quick way to make the distinction between alcoholic and non-alcoholic ciders. Hope this helps. If not, I'm sure Erwin would be happy to speak with you at length. He is at the Winter Market every Sunday manning the Chateau Buffalo table.

Chateau Buffalo calls its products cidre. They are colourful, too.

Sounds great. How many cidres and wines can you try with the ticket? Is anything else included?

went to this last year... lots of fun.

you can try all the cidre & wine you want (and walk away drunk, if you choose). The event functions like a California wine tasting - the ticket buys you a glass and you amble around and get it filled wherever you want. You can also buy what you try...
