The Totally Dedicated

I think I've got a lot of Buffalo spirit until I run into someone, or something, that makes me wonder. Of course the Buffalo bumper sticker is an easy way to tell someone that you have pride in the city. A coffee table book is another way to do it. I've seen a lot of Buffalo t-shirts too - it seems as if a new one comes out everyday. But there are the extremists that you see every once in while who completely dwarf the everyday Buffalo expressionists.
Here are just a couple of examples of Buffalo behavior taken to the nth degree. The Jeep has been driving around the city for at least the last year. Not only does it have green buffalo graphics all over the sides, it also has a huge buffalo on the hood and bumper stickers on the tail. The second example is a bit more permanent. I ran into a young guy recently who had tattooed the City Hall building onto his forearm. Then, below the building a big 'Buffalo' was added. Now that, to me, showed some serious dedication.

If you have a dedicated photo that you would like to send us, send it here. Also tell us a little bit about the ‘whos’, ‘whats’, ‘whens’, and ‘hows’ pertaining to the photo.

As we mentioned in our previous post, we’re in the process of changing the Buffalo Rising site. We’re almost there as we expect to launch the new site on Friday, December 19th.
In the meantime, posting will be light as we log new stories in the new publishing system which will only be viewable when we launch on Friday.
As always, we appreciate our users’ patience as we make this transition but we promise it will be well worth it. With faster load times, a comment view …
Caroline Kennedy was in town for a visit with our mayor yesterday. A possible choice to succeed US Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, Kennedy's name has been mentioned along with that of Attorney General Andrew Cuomo (son of former New York Governor Mario Cuomo) and our own Byron Brown, among others.
Certainly, Kennedy has "been around politics" all of her life, which is to say she was born into a family of politicos and lived in the White House--neither of which would necessarily f …
Free light rail rides on downtown's above ground section could be derailed thanks to the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority's budget mess. That is the news coming out of a Buffalo Place meeting this morning. Facing a budget shortfall and reduced State operating assistance, the NFTA is scrambling for new revenue sources and is contemplating charging for rides along the lengthy downtown pedestrian mall.
Well it is Christmas time in the city and the NFTA helped put people and especially children into the mood in a very festive and fun way. One of my favorite memories of childhood was taking the train downtown with my grandfather. I would gaze out the windows and watch the tunnel speed by. It always felt like we were going a million miles an hour.
Then there was the ability to stand up and walk around during the ride without the need to be strapped down. It was always a fun time …

whammy weenies are great. i have one also. the only real reason for there recall was, at the game we would shake them next to our groin like a little green penis. all the lead paint on a weenie couldn't possibly hurt you. seeing twenty five thousand of them shaking from our collective crotches is is the only reason for the bells recall. KEEP YOUR WEENIES AND SHAKE THEM WITH PRIDE!!!!

Actually theres alot of Buffalo pride floating out there well outside western new york in the huge ex-Buffalonian population thats seems to be scattered everywhere. On a fairly regular basis, at least once weekly I run into a person or a vehicle with some sort of wetsern new york tie, whether it be Buffalo bills license plate, or more typically a buffalo ny bumper sticker, etc. Its actually very common here in Central Virginia.
