The Marina Market
Believe it or not, The Marina Market has just about everything you would need to get by… especially if you’re down at the marina with the kids. It’s not exactly a health food store, but if you are looking for a quick fix to get out of a sticky situation, then this place may surprise you. First of all, the interior of the market is about six times the size that you might think, judging it from the exterior. Yesterday we stopped in and discovered ice cream, chips, candy, Buffalo postcards, Freezies (great for kids), cookies, cereal and health bars, soda/pop, and many of the other basic market items. It was kind of like being in one of those Floridian touristy beach markets.
Visiting The Marina Market was a real eye-opener. I will definitely add this place to my list of stops when I need something while visiting the Inner Harbor and the Erie Basin Marina.

but can BRO look into the facts or the ongoing project. isn't it an outdated pipe that will be repaired soon. isn't some of the sewer infrastructure part of the millions of $$$ being spent on the waterfront development???
The Marina Market is a pretty good, convienent, cheap place to pick up some last minute items. they should see an increase in business. i've definetly noticed more people walking around that area of the city lately.

I sail out of the erie basin every wed for the races, and actually stopped in to market yesterday for my first time to grab some pre/during/post race brew. I bit more expensive, but where else can you go thats within a mile radius of there. Speaking of The Hatch, we stopped in after the race for the first time in quite a while, it will be the last for quite a while as well. They had about 6 people 'working' the joint, but no one was really doing anything. It wasn't busy by any means, so it shouldn't take 15 minutes after you place your order to get a hot dog. The few people in front of us seemed to be pretty annoyed as well. I have literally never seen so many employees doing absolutely nothing at once, it was a complete joke.

it is NOT projects - as a matter of fact it isnt even considered public housing - there are an amazing variety of people who live there - they have won prizes for their community gardens with buffalo in bloom in the past. the marina market is a great addition to our community , i just wish there would be healthier food choices and veggie options ..

It was the projects, like magoo55 said, years ago. It was shut down in the 60's, reopened, mismanaged for years and now is a great place to live especially for people that need inexpensive housing like some seniors and students. I have a friend that rented there for the past few years when she was starting out, making $16,000 a year. Now, she just bought a house and will be leaving, but she told me that she will miss living at the apartments since there's a real good mix of people there and the new management has really done a great job of getting things right again. ' As far as the market, I work across Erie Street from there and they have the best sandwiches and also have a widevariety of beverages, even Starbucks Double Shot Mochas with Guarana, a nice way to start the day. They also manage the Hatch.
And Buffaloboy14, please change your name if your going to continue to shoot everything down in our city. Your a mess.

the Marine Drive apartments are (or at least once were) owned by the BMHA. They provide inexpensive waterfront living for a select group who were lucky, or brave enough to escape their native South Buffalo
