The Best of Country Living in the Heart of Downtown Buffalo
Buffalo Place wants to let BRO viewers know about the upcoming farmers market in downtown Buffalo: Buffalo Place couldnit help but notice that it took a little bit longer to tape vendor spaces on Main Street in preparation for the 24th Anniversary Season of the Downtown Country Market. Inquisitive workers, residents and visitors of Downtown were dying to know when the first day of the 2006 season would commence. We didnit mind chatting with Downtowners about their favorite spot to pick up some fresh cut flowers or the best place to get a fresh pastry to go along with the usual cup of joe. We are just as excited as you about the start of the 2006 Downtown Country Market in Downtown Buffalo.
This year, the pre-season of the Downtown Country Market begins on Thursday, May 18th. As always, the Market will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays on Main Street (between Court and Church Streets) in the heart of Downtown Buffalo. The Market will run from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., so you early birds can take advantage of the freshest fruits and veggies in the morning and night-owls can soak in the afternoon sun of beautiful Downtown Buffalo and search for interesting wares. The regular season of the Market will commence on Thursday, June 15th and run through October 26, 2006.
In addition to everyoneis favorite mainstay vendors, Buffalo Place will be working with lots of new vendors that Market patrons have not yet experienced in Downtown Buffalo. As always, each of our new vendors, along with returning vendors, are certified New York State agriculture growers/producers. Buffalo Place will again participate in the Pride of New York Program and all of our vendors proudly produce their products in the State of New York.
So, you want to know who the new vendors are? This year we will feature a vendor that will sell loose leaf teas along with a vendor that features homemade maple sugar and maple sugar goodies. We are confident all of the new vendors will be unique and exciting additions to the market.
With 26 farmers and specialty vendors, there is something for everyone at the 2006 Downtown Country Market. Make sure you stop by and visit all of our participating vendors and enjoy the best of country living to the heart of Downtown Buffalo! In the meantime, posting will be light as we log new stories in the new publishing system which will only be viewable when we launch on Friday.
As always, we appreciate our users’ patience as we make this transition but we promise it will be well worth it. With faster load times, a comment view …
Caroline Kennedy was in town for a visit with our mayor yesterday. A possible choice to succeed US Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, Kennedy's name has been mentioned along with that of Attorney General Andrew Cuomo (son of former New York Governor Mario Cuomo) and our own Byron Brown, among others.
Certainly, Kennedy has "been around politics" all of her life, which is to say she was born into a family of politicos and lived in the White House--neither of which would necessarily f …
Free light rail rides on downtown's above ground section could be derailed thanks to the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority's budget mess. Well it is Christmas time in the city and the NFTA helped put people and especially children into the mood in a very festive and fun way. One of my favorite memories of childhood was taking the train downtown with my grandfather. I would gaze out the windows and watch the tunnel speed by. It always felt like we were going a million miles an hour.
Then there was the ability to stand up and walk around during the ride without the need to be strapped down. It was always a fun time …
