When Chayban first moved to Buffalo he didn't understand a lick of English. As a matter of fact, for all intents and purposes he didn't really know where he was. That's because his original destination was NYC. When he landed in The Big Apple he was told (while still at the airport) that the city was too expensive and his best bet was to hop on the next plane to Buffalo. So that's what he did. He landed without knowing a single person in the city and not a clue as to how to communicate with anyone. But that didn't stop him from finding work the very next day. Now Chayban owns a series of custom tailoring and dry cleaning businesses called... of course... Chayban's.
Chayban has created custom suits for the many of the oversized Buffalo Bill's players. He's also catered to the needs of people in the business community that rely on form-fitted-suit makers that can cut and stitch the finest materials available. He even custom makes tuxedos "for the gentlemen who don't want to get stuck with an everyday rental". Chayban prides himself on the quality of his goods and services and is excited to be back in the city... back to where it all began. Listen to how he made his mark on Western New York. His story is an exciting tale on living the American Dream. Chayban’s is located at 507 Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo. His phone number is 716.835.3662.

As the global financial crisis throws economies around the world into recession, more and more industries are getting hit. Banks have been bailed out. Auto manufacturers are drowning. Newspapers, though, were ahead of their time as they've been dying slowly for more than a decade.
Warren Buffett, the legendary investor and owner of our hometown Buffalo News, acknowledged the fate of newspapers in his 2006 shareholder letter when he wrote:
Nevertheless, this operation faces …
As you look outside your office window today, you're likely overtaken by the sheer beauty. Blowing snow. People hunched over, freezing, trying to walk into a 30MPH wind. You're probably reading from the script of American Beauty:
Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world I feel like I can't take it... and my heart is going to cave in.
Or, maybe you're just thinking "Oh f#@!, I have to drive home in this s*$#."
Either way, we're here to lift your spirits.
If you'd li …
A two-story Delaware Avenue office building is getting a new face and a third story. The Buffalo Planning Board approved renovation plans for 334 Delaware Avenue at this morning's meeting. Owner 120 W. Tupper Street Inc. is undertaking the $1.2 million project. The bland building will get a new look and a glass third-floor addition.
At an after school program recently, some kids were doing homework, some were on computers and some were in the gym. But a small group of fourth-graders were designing and building boats out of household products- plastic cups, construction paper, and tape. They had been building and modifying their boats throughout the week, trying a few different design and construction plans. Now they were ready to race them across a tub of water, using a fan to power them across. After deal …

Welcome Mr. Chayban - looks like a nice addition to this section of Elmwood Avenue.
Linda Colucci and I were the first occupants when we opened 507 Elmwood Avenue as 'L.J. Colucci Tobacco,Teas & Coffees' back in the early -1970's. Here's a little history on the ceiling in that store - we bought the beautiful oak beams at an auction when the Rosa Coplan Mansion, on Symphony Circle, was slated for demolition. The room they came out of was the same size exact as our store - check 'em out (hopefully they're still there)!
