Podcast: Interview by Mark Goldman and Lydia Langer. Interviewee: Thomas Woods
Isn't it nice to see so much bike activity in the city? We have Blue Bikes, and Zippy Delivery Service, and an ice cream freezer bike, and bike tours and races. Mark and Lydia decided that one of the original bike advocates, Thomas Woods, would make for a good BRO podcast. If you've paid a visit to the city during just about any given weekend, chances are that you have seen Thomas traveling around looking for fares. I've seen him drop people off at Sabres games, whisk people away from Chippewa Street and hover around festivals to take people back to their cars.
During the podcast, the point is raised that maybe there should be even more bike taxis in Buffalo. If Thomas hooked up with the different business communities, the marketing possibilities are endless. The bike taxi, or pedicab, are found all over the world in both third-world countries and resort-cities. Find out what inspired Thomas to start a bike taxi company in Buffalo. And learn more about how the bike-taxi commerce is founded (or unfounded). Who takes the taxi, and where do they take it? Does "What happens in a bike-taxi really stay in a bike taxi"? Please visit the Buffalo Bike Taxi website.

Warren Buffett, the legendary investor and owner of our hometown Buffalo News, acknowledged the fate of newspapers in his 2006 shareholder letter when he wrote:

As you look outside your office window today, you're likely overtaken by the sheer beauty. Blowing snow. People hunched over, freezing, trying to walk into a 30MPH wind. You're probably reading from the script of American Beauty:
Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world I feel like I can't take it... and my heart is going to cave in.
Or, maybe you're just thinking "Oh f#@!, I have to drive home in this s*$#."
Either way, we're here to lift your spirits.
If you'd li …
