Park Lane Catering Alive and Well

That's the message from Park Lane Catering (PLC), in the Statler Towers. Recent news coverage about Bashar Issa's redevelopment plans may have given the general public a different idea, but Park Lane Catering Executive Molly Ford wants everyone to know that PLC's involvement in the Stater's Golden Ballroom, Terrace Room and Rendezvous Room is not affected.
"It's unfortunate that the fate of our business is bundled up with what's happening with Mr. Issa's development plans. I can assure you that we are ready to host events that are planned and future events that require an historic and elegant setting," said Ford. She goes on to say that the improvements made to the building make PLC's efforts as an event planner all the better.
After news of Issa's halting work at the Statler surfaced, PLC fielded numerous phone calls from panicked brides and local event planners. The Statler Golden Ballroom will soon become command central for many proms, college formals, galas and fund raisers including the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Buffalo Renaissance Foundation, Hispanics United of Buffalo, Muscular Dystrophy, Carly's Club (Roswell), SABAH, CATS, Heritage Oak, and the NYS Teachers Federation.
"Issa's plans were put on hold," said Ford. "That doesn't mean the building is closed or that the businesses that have kept the Statler alive for many years are going away. We have 80 plus weddings booked through the end of the year and into 2010. We're here to stay."

I always tell people that Allentown is synonymous with art. In this part of the city you never know what you might find when taking a leisurely stroll down any of side streets. I've posted on 'tree stump to flower planter conversions', we’ve showcased a few of the murals, we've seen live performers walking the streets, and on any given day the sounds of instruments can be heard coming out of residential windows.
Yesterday I briefly stopped to take a look at some of the latest …
The lease is signed. Law firm Damon & Morey LLP has finalized the lease for 51,000 square feet at Two Hundred Delaware. Damon & Morey, the third largest law firm in Buffalo, will occupy the 11th and 12th floors of the building starting on May 1, 2009. Well into construction, Two Hundred Delaware will be a central feature of contemporary architecture in the heart of the Central Business District. The project by UniQuest is located at the intersection of West Huron and Delaware, …
For those of you who follow this column, we have not suddenly become restaurant reviewers for Buffalo Rising. As it turns out, Acts of Intentional Kindness are not limited to not for profits, but occur daily in lots of for profit (hopefully!) businesses in our city.
Case in point – Risa of Risa’s Deli on Hertel Ave. As we enter Risa’s Deli, we are reminded of the lyrics to the “Cheers” theme song, specifically the part that goes...

During the War of 1812, Job Hoisington became a Buffalonian of legend. As we approach the 200th anniversary, the Kleinhans Community Association saw it fitting to honor this hero of local lore with a historic marker, commemorating his heroic battle deeds.
To those who may not know who Hoisinton was, Chris Brown President of the Kleinhans Community Association explained, “There was a lot written about him, but unfortunately, it was written 150-200 years ago.”
Hoisington was a …

Is this serious? People actually think that the building is completly empty right now? If it were, it would have been news in itself and we would of heard where most of them all had relocated too.

I believe the Brides concerns is the stautus of construction or if their dates will be affected if the building flips. As a florist that has worked with the Park Lane, I know they would never let an event be ruined. They are one of the best catering firms to work with and have a firm control over the first floor.
