Make Your Mark: Beer Merchant's Design Our Logo Contest

There’s been a lot of chatter on the site in recent weeks about the specialty shop opening on Elmwood in the space formerly occupied by Chef Deli. For more information, you can check out Newell’s first post, or last week’s, which followed-up on some of the working being done to the building’s interior.
Mel and Tammy Westin, owners of The Village Beer Merchant, slated to open in November, have offered our readers an exciting opportunity! The store will appeal to consumers looking for gourmet food and specialty beers and they’re looking for an inspired and fresh logo. The only stipulations are that the logo contain their name: The Village Beer Merchant, and that all artwork be turned in before 9 AM on Monday, October 8th (Columbus Day). Please submit your piece using this address.
The winning logo may be featured in all of their advertising, signage and branded merchandise. The winner will also receive a feature on BRO, bragging rights and a $25 gift certificate to the shop every month for a year (value $300).
You don’t need to be a pro, though we certainly welcome professional submissions with open arms. So crack open your Photoshop program and get to work!
The above photo is simply a selection of specialty beers, not necessarily a representation of The Village Beer Merchant’s stock.

Cecelia’s Ristorante & Martini Bar is prepared to guide their guests through the tastes of fall with their brand new fall menu. Although it is getting a bit too cold for the patio, the hardy food inside will warm things right up.
I started out with the Harvest Salad ($8) and the “Lumpy” Crab Cakes ($9). The Harvest Salad was served with a rosemary citrus vinaigrette, and topped with apricots, beets, pine nuts, walnuts, dried cranberries, and other assorted dried fruits. …
One of the perks my daughter's friends enjoy about a sleepover at my home (other than rearranging the furniture for movie time) are the crepes I serve our guests in the morning.
I can remember sleepover breakfasts from when I was a kid that consisted of potato chips and soda from the night before. If the lack of sleep didn't make us dizzy and irritable enough, the fat, salt and sugar we ingested in the morning would make sure the entire day would be counted for lost. Ugh.

Steven Calvaneso, a well-known Buffalo entrepreneur who has launched a number of city and suburban restaurants during his career, is shrinking his holdings to a single restaurant location. Christa,
When I was a kid in the 50s there was a CHICKEN DELIGHT in either this space or the Jimmy Mac's space. It was a take out and delievery chicken place. Their slogan was DON'T COOK TONIGHT... CALL CHICKEN DELIGHT.
A friend of mine has submitted a few designs for VBM's logo and I think they are just great. As for VBM, I am looking forward to them opening and I wish them the very best.
