Movies In The Meadow

The movies will be shown near the Parkside Lodge near Parkside Avenue and Florence Avenue throughout the month of July. The cost to you to watch is nothing and anyone can attend. This family-friendly event is playing three movies that the children in your lives can enjoy. Itâll be a great way to enjoy a film outside on a big screen without having to be stuck sitting in your car.
The first movie is a film that still resonates with Buffalonians. âThe Naturalâ was shot in Buffalo in 1983 and holds a place in many Buffaloniansâ hearts. It will be the first film shown on July 12 at 9 PM. The next two movies are âThe Golden Compassâ and âThe Water Horse,â both at 9 PM on July 19 and 26, respectively.
This event is made possible with support from the M&T Charitable Foundation. You can call 838-1240 for more information or you can visit the Parkside Community Associationâs website.

For years, visitors to Elmwood Avenue have been gazing upon a partially lit neon work of art at Bidwell Parkway above Sahara Grill. Every once in a while there were reports that the neon was getting repaired... then nothing. That's not the case anymore as this Wednesday marks the official relighting of the Neon Tango Dancers. Thanks to the work of the Elmwood Village Association, the Buffalo Tango Society, NAS Quicksigns and Joe Golombek, the dancers will once again strut their st …
More often than not, Carl Paladino comes across as a guy who has a gripe about plenty of things in Buffaloâits politicians, its development projects and even the way its schools are run. And, more often than not, he makes a fair argument. Still, no one can deny that he is a full-time Buffalo Booster, with a particular passion and unconditional love for this city. Itâs obvious in his dedication to doing business here.
As CEO of Ellicott Development Company, a real estate de …
At long last, Tony Maggiotto, owner of CityLove Clothing has found a permanent home on Elmwood Avenue. He has turned the former Stache/Damsel store into a one stop shop for all of your Buffalo needs, Tony is a mastermind when it comes to printing t-shirts that reflect the local times â my favorite happens to be the American Apparel that broadcasts âPeace Bridge Planning Committee. And now that Tony has made the move from apartment/cyber space to an official headquarters, heâ …

I didn't take this picture myself, but I wanted to include an image of Delaware Park and I thought this was a good one, even if the locale wasn't right. Sorry if it confused you. Do you like the new one better?

What a fantastic idea! With such a busy summer it's a shame I already have plans on those nights--any chance for more movies being added on following Saturdays?

Those photos are of the Parkside Lodge, and it's a croquet court - not Bocce.

The pictures posted are correct and near the location. The first picture is the actual Parkside Lodge on Parkside Avenue. The second picture is of the flowers on the walkway leading to the Lodge at Parkside and Florence. The movies are being shown across from the Lodge, if it is not raining. Across from the Lodge is a grassy area called the meadow. If it rains, the movies will be shown under a tent next to the Lodge in the gated area. This area is not the bocce court. The bocce court is on the other side of the Lodge.
