Mass Appeal: A High Fashion Event

Friday is almost here, which means that there's only a couple more days until Mass Appeal. If you haven't heard about the event, then you should know that it is being billed as one of the most unusual and creative soirees of the season. Just imagine a hot fashion show being held in a historic church, complete with hundreds of candles and flash bulbs snapping.
Thanks to the unique partnership between The Elmwood Village Association, Lafayette Presbyterian Church, corporate sponsors and the street's small businesses, Mass Appeal is projected to set the bar when it comes to fashion events in the city. This social event is also perfect for those who may be interested in seeing what's in store for the upcoming season's shopping choices... consider this your up-close and intimate guide to the Elmwood shops. And who doesn't want to see the clothes on a person, rather than a shop mannequin?

Caroline Kennedy was in town for a visit with our mayor yesterday. A possible choice to succeed US Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, Kennedy's name has been mentioned along with that of Attorney General Andrew Cuomo (son of former New York Governor Mario Cuomo) and our own Byron Brown, among others.
Certainly, Kennedy has "been around politics" all of her life, which is to say she was born into a family of politicos and lived in the White House--neither of which would necessarily f …
Free light rail rides on downtown's above ground section could be derailed thanks to the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority's budget mess. I expect that there will be plenty of models in Zubaz pants, acid washed jeans, Sabres Jackets, and mullets to appeal to the Buffalo fashion world.
