Fairy cakes. That is the name Deb, owner of Delish, has chosen for these voluptuous cupcakes. Each one boasts dense, moist cake topped with a lavish amount of rich buttercream frosting. A version with seasonal flair always resides alongside classic chocolate and vanilla interpretations. Easily large enough for two people, these trendy treats are only $5 each.

A note to potential buyers of all things buttercream: Though cakes topped with authentic buttercream icing (not the fake stuff from the supermarket) require refrigeration, they must be brought to room temperature before eating. A mouthful of cold buttercream frosting is never as good as one that has been warmed. Intense flavor (and satisfaction) will be lost to the impatient consumer!

Christa most of the time your information is right on, however no way is one cup cake enough for most of the individuals I know. Additionally, good buttercream is also good even frozen, although I prefer slightly cold especially in the early morning as a coffee enhancement. Delish is-----good stuff, not for diabetic's. impatiently yours..

    Viking-

These cakes are not the same size as those typically available. I'm sorry if the post did not make that clear. The cup, cake and frosting are easily 2 times the size of an average cupcake.

Regarding buttercream- certainly it is a matter of taste. However, as a former professional cake decorator, I have to say that I disagree. Most bakeries using real buttercream will suggest to customers the importance of temperature. In fact, any cake purchase at Delish will come with the aforementioned reminder. Most of all Viking, differences aside, I’d like to thank you for your regular contributions to YUM!
