Labatt USA Designates Buffalo for Its Winter Kegger

Labatt USA Designates Buffalo for Its Winter Kegger

Story Options

There tends to be a lot of talk by companies in Buffalo but little action. That is definitely not the case with Labatt USA! The Buffalo Niagara region is where the company has decided to hold its winter wholesalers meeting – which in the past has been held in much warmer climates like Orlando and Las Vegas.

Labatt USA, having been headquartered in the Key Center building since June 2007, will not shield its 500 key wholesalers and business leaders from the cold weather of Buffalo. Instead, it plans on showcasing the region, which it has grown to think of as its hometown.

The Buffalo Niagara region is widely recognized as a great place to sell Canadian beer with Labatt Blue and Labatt Blue Light being top-sellers in the area. Labatt USA is responsible for the import and marketing of those top-sellers as well as a few other Canadian beers like Kokanee.

On February 6 and 7, Labatt USA will be giving its 2007 progress report and 2008 strategic plans while treating its partners to a number of hospitality events and presentations. The Hyatt Regency will host the event and some outings include trips to Dave & Buster’s, Pearl Street, and a Buffalo Sabres game.

It is a nice change of pace to hear that Buffalo will be showcased – especially during the winter. Labatt USA works closely with Try-It Distributing – which sells 1.8 million cases of Labatt USA products annually. Showcasing the Greater Buffalo area when this area is filled with hundreds of Labatt accounts at supermarkets, restaurants, bars, and organizations like the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, and Buffalo Bisons, helps to make Buffalo a great place to show off the company’s hard work and dedication to the area.

Bravo to Labatts. It would of been so much easier for them to entertain elsewhere. Did you know that Hodgson Russ does the same thing being headquarterd here in Buffalo? Last year and again this year they bring all their lawyers along with their spouses from their other locations in Canada and the U.S. for a summer event. It is events/conventions such as these that not only showcase Buffalo, but brings in tourist dollars. Imagine what we could do if we had a beatiful new convention center near the water!

LOVE Labatt beer. I try to exclusively drink Blue since Labatt USA moved to Buffalo.

(Not that I really drank anything else, so it wasn't much of a sacrifice!)

try some real beer, unpasteurized beer, local beer, tasty beer --- you know the beer - it's the only distributing brewery in the city of Buffalo -- Flying Bison Beer. take a trip down to ontario street (it's not elmwood village, sorry) and try some, i'm certain you wont be disappointed.

Ohh flying bison is amazing but if you are looking for a cheaper night out Labatt is my choice. My friends who are away in war or whatever always order one... well maybe a bit more than that, as soon as they get off the plane. There is just something about a fresh blue that hits the spot. But you have to know the right place to get them at. Don't expect a good blue from Laughlin's, Colter Bay, Scarlet... you need to go to a place where the blue runs like water, then you get the true taste of a fresh, delivered that day blue..

Great news! I am glad they are taking their old / new again headquarters to heart. Hell it might not be 3000 employees but events like this can go a long way to changing a couple peoples opinion. Put us back on someone's psyche map. They can spin that globe and think about that night at Pearl Street in Buffalo during a sabres game when they see the Great Lakes spin by.

All Labatt bottles and cans sold anywhere in the United States will carry the designation, “Imported by Labatt USA, Buffalo, N.Y.”

    .. I'll take it!

Has anyone ever heard the Molson commercials that run on some Canadian radio stations (esp during Leafs games)? They make some serious cracks abt Buffalo. I'm not a big fan of Canadian beer but the commercials made me start drinking Labatt's & boycotting Molson.

You can definitely get it at Premier. I don't know about Consumer's. I think someone told me that the one on Transit sells Belgians, but that doesn't mean it's Trappist.

    Good stuff!

I love an ice cold Blue Light. I just bought a case yesterday and got my pond hockey toque.

Can't wait for the Labatt Blue Pond Hockey Tournament.

    Check it out: http://www.usahockey.com/Template_Usahockey.aspx?NAV=PL_04&ID=13084&USAHockeyType=ICE

Now, if they could move the brewery to Buffalo that would be great!

There are still many places in the U.S. where Labatt's is unavailable. Time to roll up your sleeves, Buffalo.
